Cryogear

Cryogear is a hand-crafted pixel-art platformer that blends Metroidvania-style exploration with souls-like mechanics in an open science-fiction world, created by solo Swiss developer Adrian Zingg of PolarityFlow and released in 2020. Players control the clone G.3.4.R across more than 50 interconnected regions of environmental hazards, hidden areas, and boss encounters.

Progression is driven by rewarded exploration, backed by an RPG inventory, multiple weapons, ability trees, and crafting. Branching level layouts support a range of playstyles and lead to multiple endings, with speedrun modes for players who want to push the world's routing.
